When I leave your postcode and your commuting station, When I leave undone the things that we planned to do, You may feel you have been left by association, But there is leaving and there is leaving you.
When I leave your town and the club that you belong to, When I leave without much warning or much regret, Remember, there’s doing wrong and there’s doing wrong to You, which I’ll never do and I haven’t yet,
And when I have gone, remember that in weighing Everything up, from love to a cheaper rent, You were all the reasons I thought of staying And you were none of the reasons why I went
And although I leave your sight and I leave your setting And our separation is soon to be a fact, Though you stand beside what I’m leaving and forgetting, I’m not leaving you, not if motive makes the act.

This has been done on FB, so whoever isn't tagged there (or is tagged there but wants to respond here), please go ahead.
This can be a quick one. Don't take too long to think about it: fifteen books you've read that will always stick with you. Make sure it's the first fifteen you can recall in no more than fifteen minutes. Tag fifteen friends, including me, because I'm interested in seeing what books my friends choose.
In no particular order:
1. Midnight's Children - Salman Rushdie 2. Season of Mists - Neil Gaiman 3. The Complete Adventures of Sherlock Holmes - Sir Arthur Conan Doyle 4. The Complete Black Widows compilation (not sure of name) - Isaac Asimov 5. Brave New World - Aldous Huxley 6. Good Omens - Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman 7. The Bible 8. 1984 - George Orwell 9. Battle Royale - Koushun Takami 10. The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar - Roald Dahl 11. Chosen - Mark Millar 12. The complete Far Side - Gary Larson 13. And then there were none - Agatha Christie 14. Flowers for Algernon - Daniel Keyes 15. Asterix & Obelix (any one of the originals) - Goscinny & Uderzo (i think) |

| Leety Utd Season 2 |
[Jul. 27th, 2006|10:53 pm] |
Things of note: Contract extension. I currently lead Div 1 with a 100% record out of 3 or 4 matches. Here's the current lineup.
GK: Dida (f) LB: Heinze LCB: Cannavaro RCB: Thuram RB: Toure MC x3: Emerson /Deco (f)/Vieira LWF: Robben CF: Shevchenko RWF: Cristiano Ronaldo Subs: De Rossi /Emre /Legrottaglie /Gudjohnsen /Djibril Cisse Yes, my team is rather Fast and the Furious. I think another 10-15 matches of friendlies ++ training and I'm ready to storm the world.
Nothing really notable in terms of pulls. |

| Leety Utd Season 2 |
[Jul. 25th, 2006|11:41 pm] |
Under the erstwhile deleterious /salubrious influence of my kaki geekski, I decided to abandon the u5 team as well and make it a Mostly Black Team.
GK: Cech LB: Ashley Cole /Heinze LCB: Cannavaro / RCB: Gallas /Puyol RB: Legrottaglie /Toure DMC: Vieira DMC: Edmilson /Emerson AMC: Deco LWF: Robben RWF: Cristiano Ronaldo CF: Shevchenko The alternates in the position are the current team. Monday was Friendly Day + some Div 2 scrimmages,
Match 1 (Friendly 1-0) The team had 60+ % of the possession, but only had 2 chances at goal and won 1-0 thanks to Ashley Cole.
Match 2 (Friendly 3-0) A Shevchenko hat-trick seals my opponents' fate. Robben and Deco with the assists.
Match 3 (League 0-1) I control possession again, but fail to convert my 2 chances and the opponent puts one away with CPU Iaquinta
Match 4 (League 2-2) Robben scores the first, but 2 breaks by the CPU allow Simone Inzaghi to steal a double. Shevchenko gets one in injury time to get the draw.
Match 5 (Friendly 2-0) Robben /Ronaldo score.
So I decided to switch the defence around. Funny how I alter my defence when it's my offence that seems to have problems huh?
I got promoted to Div 1, but only finished 2nd due to a record of 4 wins, 3 draws, 1 loss. I then proceeded to go to the final of the Title Holders' Cup but got knocked out by a hat trick from geekski's David Trezeguet. Trezeguet ftw indeed ;)
No notable pulls, but my luck sucks at this game.
We officialy welcome AK to the club. -out- |

| WCCF Season 1 |
[Jul. 21st, 2006|11:54 pm] |
Have been playing WCCF of late. The best description I've heard thus far is "CM plus WE 1 on the PS2". Needless to say, if you didn't get that, this game is probably not for you.
Season 1 record, 54W-28L-18D. Titles won: Division 2 Champions, Title Holders' Cup, Continental Cup, Super Continental Cup Other cup performances: Finalist of the U5 cup, Semifinalist of the Champions' League. Stadium improvements: 2nd tier, roofing, floodlights and corner stalls.
Notable team achivements: Jon Dahl Tomasson: 38 games, 20 goals, 5 assists Andre Shevchenko: 25 games, 30 goals, 8 assists Bernardo Corradi: 29 games, 9 goals, 4 assists Arjen Robben: 20+ games, 9 goals, 13 assists
Due to my lack of imagination, 2nd data card contains the same team name as the first. Uniform and my nationality changed. Current team (still U5 legal) is as follows: GK: John Molina LB: Silvestre LCB: Cannavaro RCB: Legrottaglie RB: Toure CMF: Emerson (c) CMF: Ooijer CMF: Fabregas LW: Robben RW: Deco CF: Shevchenko Subs Phil Neville Heinze Djibril Cisse Bernardo Corradi Emre The team plays more of my preferred formation: which is 4-2-3-1. Think France but with a less pronounced right sided attack.. 8 games into 2nd card. So far I've been knocked out in the 1st round of the Title Holders' Cup (another human), and am presently 2nd in the league. The defence is holding out well, I've only conceded 2 goals in 8 matches, but the problem is funnily enough, scoring. Then again, the team is yet to get in sync, though my wingers and striker have all scored. The current record is 4 wins 1 loss 3 draws.
The bench could use some work. I've been toying with the idea of benching Legrottaglie and moving Heinze into LB, which means Silvestre goes into centrehalf. But why mess with a defensive formula that apparently works? Here's my non-U5 formation (all black unless stated)
GK: Cech LB: Silvestre /Heinze (white) LCB: Cannavaro RCB: Puyol RB: Javier Zanetti DM: Emerson DM: Vieira MC: Gerrard /Lampard in the 'hole' LW: Robben CF: Shevchenko RW: Cristiano Ronaldo
Subs (would be all white): Toure Jon Dahl Tomasson Marco Di Vaio Fabregas undecided
Similar to the geek's, but what to do when you have a card pool of only 220++ players? Not to mention I like the U5 format. Oh retraining is such a pain. |

| WCCF |
[Jul. 16th, 2006|11:34 pm] |
To immortalise my WCCF team (U5) that topped Div 2 in its 3rd season... Here are the players who played the majority of the games:
GK: Petr Cech^ LB: Mickael Silvestre LCB: Fabio Cannavaro^ RCB: Nicola Legrottaglie RB: Javier Zanetti^ LMF: Arjen Robben^ LMC: Emerson^ RMC: Francesc Fabregas RMF: Nikola Lazetic CF: Jon Dahl Tomasson CF: Bernardo Corradi
Subs: Jose Molina Gerard Lopez Obafemi Martins Kolo Toure Joe Cole
Now, Div 1 should be a bigger kettle of fish. How to keep my team (U5 eligible) but yet improve? Heinze is currently in for Zanetti, which means I run a back 4 of Heinze /Cannavaro /Legrottaglie /Toure with Silvestre as the sub.
Special players (the ones with ^) I want to use: Shevchenko, Ronaldinho, Cristiano Ronaldo. I can't even think of how to fit Deco in.
Tentative Div 1 side (MF/FWs only)
(a) Robben /Emerson /Cesc /Lazetic + Tomasson /Shevchenko. The right side looks outclassed though. (b) 2 holding midfielders in Emerson + another fella. Then Robben /Ronaldinho/Tomasson/Sheva
oh this thinking is such sweet agony. The geek has more foils though ;)

It's been a good month. So what the heck. France to take it 2-1 in extra time. Trezeguet FTW :D The more realistic approach would entail Italy winning 1-0. but where's the fun in that?

| on punts, and the deeparted |
[Jul. 5th, 2006|02:30 am] |
Early in the morning 2 o clock. cokeguzzler's punts hopefully won't shock
ok that was bad. no coherence and lack of logic. see ibid for the punt. Since we're 4 matches away, here goes nothing!
Draw-Away (assuming Italy is away). it'll either be 0-1, or 1-2 but it's a good bet for 0-0 at the end of first half. Klose to cement his Golden Boot here, Gilardino and Totti. Of course, if it goes to penalties, ze Germans will take it.
The Deeparted! Enough said. -out- |

| Quarterpunts! |
[Jun. 30th, 2006|10:19 pm] |
Germany v Argentina: Darn this is too close to call. I call it 1-1 at the end of regulation. One team is gonna have to pick the other team's pocket. Argentina have the edge in subs, but Germany might well ride the 40K of people home, which would suck a bit, given my chronic dislike of ze Germans.
Italy v Ukraine The finest of Serie A v Serie A's finest striker. 11 on 1 doesn't sound like much of a contest does it? 1-0 to the itaLians. Hopefully they don't get overzealous, especially with Gattuso on a yellow already.
The winner of Germany v Argentina to then get the better of Italy /Ukraine.
Half hour to go! -out- |

| The Usual |
[Jun. 27th, 2006|10:53 pm] |
2-0 to the Brazilians. France to nick it by a goal, most possibly 2-1. The scenario is interesting though: They're better off without Zidane, but if the Spanish midfield is going to be La Liga-based, then Zidane is a better choice since you know, the Spanish 'play' football isntead of hustling and bustling. |

I really should get my SMS punts and the punts here to be the same. Too bad I don't seem to have much of a short-term memory. On the 2nd round thus far...
Germany was a relative no brainer. The Argentine game will give the Germans hope that they can beat them. Discipline is key. I got Arg v Mex wrong though.
England were good to win, and my revised punt was actually 1-0. But margin there anyway lah. Portugal v Holland I got wrong as well, unless you count the draw in red cards (hurhurhurhur)
Anyway, for tonight's matches!
Italy v Australia 1-1 after fulltime. Italy to score from a setpiece while Australia score an equaliser after a substitution! Sadly I suspect Inzaghi will toepoke something home and break the hearts of Aussie fans in extra time. Luca Toni not the ideal player against the Aussie CBs. So tough to call.
Switzerland v Ukraine Ukraine to nick it 2-1. in fulltime.
